Letter to Bluebonnet parents regarding knife on campus

April 24, 2017

Dear Bluebonnet Parents and Guardians,

At the end of the school day, a student reported seeing another student with a knife on campus. Campus administration immediately investigated the report, confirming a student brought a knife to school. The student had no intention of harming anyone.

Please take the time to speak to your children about leaving dangerous items, such as knives, at home. Even when students mean no harm with these items, having them at the campus is prohibited, and students will face consequences. Also, please be sure to check your children’s backpacks to help us keep these items at home.

We encourage students to let a teacher or adult know whenever they see or hear anything that may be unsafe. Thank you to the student who made the report.

If you have any questions, please contact me at Glenn.Shanks@lockhart.txed.net or at (512) 398-0900.

Sincerely,

Glenn Shanks
